Driving to my folks' place for the holidays on 12-13-2024
CW: Jump scare, mentions suicidal ideation
Driving to my folks' place for the holidays on 12-13-2024 is a very, very short "game" designed for a horror mini-event to make something uh, pretty small. It sort of got wrapped up in my recent desire to make more "diary games" and looking into engines like bitsy and design ideas like flatgames. This is not a bitsy game or a flatgame really, but I've never done a "structured wandering with text vibes-based game" sort of deal.
Was nice to play around with color again, it's been a bit. Since my last posting I have some unpublished projects that are all monochrome, so this was nice to get into since that last time I worked with color was Dedicated Healer a few months ago.
The holidays are weird this year.
Game works on browsers but has no touch input for mobile. Sound has been tested to work on Chrome, still troubleshooting on how to get it work on other browsers that report issues. Got fullscreen to work properly now, at least, it stretches instead of just staying the same size.
Credits are available after the game, or from navigating to the title screen early.
Controls:
Arrow Keys to move
X calls the menu and backs through menu windows
Z confirms and moves forward through menu windows

I have been thinking about journal/vignette/autobiographical games recently, and this is great!!
Thank you! I think it turned out alright. Clumsy, maybe, but it does the job XD
I'm hoping to keep doing more personal works. My biggest barrier as an artist right now is not really having a grasp on like that internal self of sorts, so I'm hoping by making more stuff I'll slowly get to where I can harness that better?
Good luck with your own such endeavors too, of course! ^^
